Useless Knowledge

The many ways you never wanted to know how to wear a scarf. But done in a very cool way.

Marie Curie

Today is Marie Curie's 144th birthday (happy birthday!). As a result of google putting up a pretty picture on their home page, I decided to read a little more about her work and ended up reading about how her books are still radioactive. This article was surprisingly interesting. Click here.

Isn't this amazing? Apparently it's in China in an area that makes this house stand out like a sore thumb. Of course, this house might stand out anywhere!

Love Lisa Frank

For my 4th grade birthday party, I got 13 different sets of Lisa Frank stationary. I finally used them all up mid 8th grade year. Poor Grandmother.

The World Triathlon

I've been following Charlie Wittmack for a year now. This is an amazing story of a man who swam 250 miles, biked 9,000, and climbed Mount Everest.

I've become a bit obsessed with the Hang, so this blog is being treated to another video! In this one the street performer talks about the Hang and how it's played.

And I thought I was lazy...

seriously....hitching a ride on that thing? hasn't anyone ever told him about how slow they are on land?

what's lazier? the fact that he doesn't use his legs to go down the stairs or that he's trying to scratch an itch without using his feet?

Hippies

This blog intrigues me so much. A 15 year old girl was moved from Colorado to Oregon this past summer with her parents to live in a hippie commune. There are armed guards at the one gate entering the community, kids move every month to new parents, and the community believes in open marriages. Her mother just escaped, but her father is loving the atmosphere. She loved it at first, then she hated it, and now she's in love with a boy so it's tolerable. From what I've gathered, the boyfriend is 17 and probably doesn't know who his biological parents are since he's raised by the community.

Snow White.

I've never been a fan of Snow White. Frankly, the movie terrified me as a kid. Snow White made it okay for kids to talk to strangers (and live with them) but ohhh, don't you DARE take a healthy apple from a stranger! Snow White ruined Trick or Treating. As much as my dislike for the movie, I think these macbook covers are so ingenious.

Flash Mob Wedding

At first I thought this was similar to the pranks and fun flash mob singing or goofy dancing. Instead I found myself a real wedding and it is unbelievably sweet.
